Athlete’s foot treatment at a glance

If you suffer from nail fungus, you may also suffer from athlete’s foot. This often manifests itself in white flakes and cracks between the toes.

Treat athlete’s foot effectively

An effective treatment for athlete’s foot is the use of Miconazole cream. Apply this cream twice a day and continue to do so until one week after the symptoms have disappeared. If you are taking blood thinners, it is important to talk to your doctor first. In that case you can choose to use Terbinafine cream. Miconazole can affect your blood clotting.

Terbinafine cream is a suitable option even if you are taking blood thinners. Terbinafine does not affect blood clotting. Please note that you should not use Terbinafine for more than two weeks.

Another effective antifungal remedy is iodine ointment or liquid. However, it is important not to use this drug for thyroid problems without first consulting a doctor. Please note that products containing iodine can discolour clothes and bed hats.

A foot bath with salt can also help. To do this, mix 4 teaspoons of salt with 1 liter of water. This can provide relief from athlete’s foot complaints.
